Sassi Caveoso by night

It's hard to describe the Sassi. Unimaginably ancient, people have lived here since the paleolithic period. The pictures in the restaurant tonight showed the peasants and the Sassi in the 40s. The squalor and poverty were apparent even in the grainy black and white photos. Today some of the Sassi still looks like it did then, but the renovated areas are gorgeous and modern full of clean lines and whitewash and polished marble walks. By night the Sassi is well-lit and appears timeless and ethereal.
